Gloria Feman Orenstein is Professor of Comparative Literature and Gender Studies at USC. She was the co-creator of The Woman's Salon for literature in NY in the seventies, and the author of several books. Her work has focused on "The Women of Surrealism," and she was the first to write on the that topic.
This series of interviews with women artists and writers was commissioned by Otis College of Art and Design as part of the exhibition "Doin' It in Public: Feminism and Art at the Woman's Building,” October 1, 2011 - February 26, 2012, curated by Meg Linton and Sue Maberry as part of "Pacific Standard Time: Art in LA 1945-1980," initiated by the Getty.
