In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to capture a highly detailed 3D model of the Russian Church in Sofia using the DJI Matrice 4E drone and a professional photogrammetry workflow.
The mission was flown using RTK positioning to achieve centimeter-level accuracy during data collection. After completing the aerial capture, the imagery was processed using One3D.ai photogrammetry software to generate a precise and high-quality 3D reconstruction of the church.
In this video you will see:
• How the drone mission is planned for complex architecture
• The flight process used to capture a historic church in high detail
• How RTK improves accuracy for mapping and 3D modeling
• The workflow for processing the captured imagery into a 3D model in One3D.ai
This workflow is commonly used for cultural heritage documentation, architecture, construction, digital twins, and historical preservation. Using drone photogrammetry allows historic buildings like the Russian Church in Sofia to be preserved digitally with remarkable precision.
Drone used: DJI Matrice 4E
Processing software: One3D.ai
Positioning: RTK (centimeter-level accuracy)
Location: Russian Church, Sofia, Bulgaria
