Onboard Suzuki RG500 to the VJMC megameet at Ryka's, Boxhill

Описание: This little ride was from Westerham to Ryka's in Boxhill for the VJMC Ryka's, Boxhill Annual megameet - The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) is the UK’s premier club for Japanese bikes fifteen years old and over.

The Club has always been run by a dedicated team of volunteers since it was founded in 1982 by a small group of like minded enthusiasts, who appreciated early Japanese bikes, their style, reliability, practicality and technological achievements.

At the time of the club’s inception air-cooled 4 cylinder bikes still ruled the roost, twin shock absorbers were still in vogue and a middleweight bike was probably 350-500cc and almost certainly a two stroke.

The club has their annual meet at Boxhill, as well as other meets around the country. This is my second time at the Boxhill meet. Lots of classic bikes and a delight to see so many 2 strokes. This year there were many different flavours of Yamaha RD500 and 2 Suzuki RG500, along with the usual classics, Suzuki GT750 (kettles), Kawasaki KH and many, many more.

I rode up to Westerham to meet up with Ian on his Yamaha RD400, air cooled and a few others. There were 3 Suzuki GT750 (Kettles) coming along for the ride and Owen on his fabulous Yamaha TZ250, pocket rocket. A beautiful bike and one of my favourites.

We went from Westerham, along one of my favourite roads, where you can see the shear power of my Suzuki RG500, against the other classics. No competition, I'm afraid. This thing is mental !!

I would have loved to have a play with the Yamaha TZ250 but he had shot off in front, without me knowing.

It was a fantastic turnout and a fantastic day, meeting up with so many great bikes and their owners.

The UK division of the VJMC has approximately 6000 members and is one of the UK's biggest classic bike clubs.
