Learn how to manage supply pressure effect (SPE) in a regulator by using a two-stage regulator or multiple single-stage regulators. Supply pressure effect is defined as a change in outlet pressure due to a change in inlet or supply pressure. Note that this change is inversely proportional. That is, if the inlet pressure decreases, there will be a corresponding outlet pressure increase (and vice versa). This video shows how to alleviate SPE in lower-flow applications, using two-stage reduction. If your gas source services multiple operations with different pressure requirements, you may need multiple single-stage regulators.
