Public Education Crisis: Budget Cuts' Impact on Students

Описание: We explore the severe consequences of budget cuts on public education. We discuss how funding decisions impacted resources, from teacher salaries to essential supplies like textbooks, affecting students. We need to vote for people that support education. And I'm gonna tell you, um, it's end of life, all right, and there was no way to be able to adequately plan for that based upon the budgetary situations each one of those boards and administrations faced without doing it, doing so at the expense of kids. Because what did they do? They instead would pay their teachers. What did they do? They would've said, made sure that- that the kids had uniforms or whatever it might be, or books and things of that nature. Heck, even textbooks were cut for many years, and many districts went 7 or 8 years without, you know, um, uh, purchasing new resources. So I- I get- I get frustrated when I hear that, you want to blame that. Blame it all you want. All right? You- you can. I'm gonna say then if you want strong public education, you need to make sure that, um, you're voting for people at the Board of Education level that- and they're hiring good superintendents. You're voting for people at the legislative level that support public education that aren't gonna look at that as a burden to the system.
