This is an instrumental version of the MI ULTIMO ADIOS song composed by Freddie Manapat, originally sung in Spanish (plus another rendition with Tagalog narration).
MI ULTIMO ADIOS is a poem written by Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal on the eve of his death by musketry. It has since then been set to music by various contemporary composers. One such version was composed and performed by Freddie Manapat in which he set the entire piece to music withour omitting a single word from the original manuscript, resulting in an elaborate work that ran for almost 17 minutes.
It is our hope that pieces such as this help keep alive the spirit of Jose Rizal, and further inspire today's youth towards developing the same kind of intense passion, patriotism, and fervent love Rizal had shown for our country, the Philippines.
