Reamping / Remiking metal guitar DIs in Two Notes Genome (HIMMP "in solitude") Flatback DynIR cab 2025-08-26 :
Used guitar DIs from the "Heaviness in Metal Music Production - In Solitude" 2024-2025 research project (more details at : https://www.himmp.net/) and compared different miking setups (mic choice and mic position) with different Two Notes DynIR cabs in Two Notes Genome.
Those guitar DIs are great if you wanna practice reamping and tweaking guitar tones.
I used the Flatback (Mesa Boogie Rectifier - like) TSM preamp in Genome before the virtual cab DynIR block, and nothing else.
For most DynIR presets, i only used 1 mic (we can use 2 mic channels at once and blen them), because i wanted to hear what you can do with each mic, and i like to keep things simple.
I have a vast collection of Two Notes DynIR cabs because som were included with the various Two Notes products i got with time, and some others i bought because i wanted to try new flavours and very specific things (like Eminence Texas Heat and Swamp Thang speakers, or Celestion G12K100 speakers).
Trying out the different cab / mic / mic placement combinations is very fun !
