Описание: Tidal acceleration is a phenomenon that results from the gravitational effects between a planet and moon. If the satellite has a prograde orbit, it drifts away while the planet loses rotational velocity. Our Moon creeps away from Earth at a rate of about 4 cm (1.5 in) every year. Earth's rotation speed is also gently slowing down, and a day (one full rotation) is around two milliseconds longer every century.
