endangered species:
another category of iucn red list is endangered species. the species which are in danger of extinction are called endangered species. example of endangered species is asiatic cheetah. many species of plants and animals have become endangered due to human activities. plants like rafflesia and grass fern of indonesia have become endangered. in china, giant pandas have become endangered. mountain gorillas is another endangered species which is in africa.
in pakistan 31 species of mammals, 20 species of birds and 5 species of reptiles are endangered. examples of endangered species in pakistan includes hobara bustard (talor), capra falconeri (markhor), marcopolo sheep, musk deer and cranes. endangered species of plants in pakistan are chilghoza sanober and yew tree (taxus baccata). taxol is a chemical which is anticancerous obtained from yew tree.

threatened species:
the species which are likely to become endangered in near future are called threatened species. examples of threatened species includes snow leopard and brown bear.
