Eric Swann was a highly sought after recruit while playing in high school, but he did not meet the NCAA’s academic requirement to obtain an athletic scholarship. So, instead of attending college, he joined a semi-pro football league in Massachusetts for one year making $5 an hour before he was selected 6th overall in the 1991 NFL Draft.
