On Thursday the 16th, thousands of people staged a massive Flambeau protest along a 100-kilometer stretch of the Teesta River in Bangladesh. The protest was organized by the political party BNP, with the slogan "Wake up, brothers, save the Teesta," to demonstrate against what they call India's "water aggression."
At 6 PM that evening, millions of people in northern Bengal lit torches along the Teesta river basin in a powerful display of dissent. During the event, one person was heard remarking, "A magnificent sight."
