One of Britain's most respected violinists, who had been putting on impromptu concerts in his front garden with his family, was ordered to stop by police.
Police told Royal Academy of Music teacher Rafael Todes that the musical family were encouraging neighbours to break the lockdown.
Mr Todes – a member of Allegri string quartet – and his family had been playing classical music for their neighbours on Alexander Street in Bayswater each Sunday.
But in their fifth week the family of four, who at the time were playing Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 4, were told by officers to stop the music, as they said it was encouraging the community to “gather”.
