Part 2 of my SeaDoo Spark project. In part 1 the destroyed Spark ACE 900 engine was removed and autopsied. I found a CanAm Ryker ACE 900 engine on eBay and bought it to swap into the Spark. The test ride went great except for a HI BATTERY VOLTAGE alarm that occurred every time I revved it over 6000 RPM. I ordered a voltage rectifier to hopefully resolve that issue. Aside from that the ski runs great and has plenty of power.
The CanAm engine has a few differences that must be addressed before it'll work in the Spark.
The exhaust camshaft must be swapped to the CanAm engine
The CanAm crankshaft PTO must be pulled and the Spark PTO pressed on
Various Spark engine bolts are stainless steel
