1990s Coin Operated Helicopter Kiddie Ride - Budgie The Little Helicopter

Manufactured by RG Mitchell, the Budgie the Little Helicopter ride was released in 1994. It features the voice of Richard Pearce, the actor who played Budgie's voice in the television series, which I remember thinking was quite unusual for character rides of the time. It was a very popular ride at both amusement arcades and shopping locations.

It also holds special memories for me personally as I was a huge fan of Budgie the Little Helicopter and I remember being thrilled when I saw my first Budgie ride in a clothing shop in Wembley. I rode it many times while singing the theme tune at the top of my voice, much to other shoppers' disgust and my mum's embarrassment!

Alas, this particular model was mute. Oh well, I have filmed better examples in the past anyway!
