In this video, I will briefly explain the method of resowing in case of poor germination of wheat seeds in field.
Poor germination may be due to less moisture in field at seed sowing time, poor seed quality, deep ploughing and heavy planking after seed broadcasting etc. Whatever the reason behind is, farmer should not take worry. He should go for resowing after waiting 15 days. 15 days after seed sowing, he should irrigate his wheat field lightly and broadcast the wetted pre soaked seed in it.
Soak wheat seeds for 6 hours if the soil is loamy and fit.
Soak seed for 12 hours if soil is salts affected and poor.
Resowing of wheat is performed at first irrigation. Farmer should apply first irrigation earlier than his normal practice and recommendation.
Broadcasting of pre soaked seed in standing water will be helpful in maintaining plants population as per standard and recommendation to get high yield of wheat grains.
