Australians on aged and veteran pensions will be able to work more hours without taking a hit to their Centrelink payments.
As of today, the maximum Work Bonus balance will increase from $7,800 to $11,800.
Councils on the Ageing's Chief Executive Ian Yates says COTA welcomes the change which means people will have “even more income” they can earn which doesn’t affect pensions.
"I think we'll certainly see people who are working on the pension take more hours, and perhaps this will encourage even more to take a day or so a week."
