More than a 100 years ago, some of the leading opera singers in the world warned about the new trend of pushing breath and screaming, which is very unhealthy for the voice itself.
Sadly, their warnings were drowned out by the "new techniques" which gave quicker results for singers, when it comes to loudness. Of course, the fact that many singers ruined their voices after just a few years was ignored.
