Norfolk State Men's Basketball Assistant Coach Steven Whitley, a graduate of both Booker T. Washington High School and Norfolk State University, is giving back to his community.
Whitley will host a local exhibition basketball game, dubbed "Home Is Where the Heart Is," featuring some of the top athletes from the Hampton Roads. The event aims to bring members of the community together for a positive purpose, while making a financial contribution to High School athletics in the area.
Nicknamed 'Diesel,' Whitley discusses this and more with Matt Hatfield on CoVA Sports TV.
Tickets for the event, which will take place at Churchland High School from 3:45 - 7 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 11, can be found on Eventbrite.
In addition to the exhibition game, the event will feature a 3-point shooting competition, dunk contests, prizes, giveaways and more. A donation will be made to the High School Basketball program of each contest winner's alma mater.
