Heart attacks with cardiogenic shock represent a major European health care concern with mortality rates between 40-70%. So how can it be treated best? The breakthrough findings of the five year long CULPRIT-SHOCK multy-center study give a clear answer to this question and even lead to a change of the Guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology.
The CULPRIT-SHOCK project has received funding by the European Union under the 7th Framework Programme. The consortium consists of 18 partners with clinical and scientific knowledge. Project coordinator is Prof. Dr. Thiele (University of Luebeck). The trial started on 1st September 2013 and ended on 31 August this year.
