Simpit A10C - Upgrades - Part 1: Relocate Simpit and Simplify Wiring
Welcome to Part 1 in a short series of videos showing upgrades to my Simpit. This is for use with Digital Combat Simulator (DCS).
Part 1: In this video I relocate the Simpit as a precursor to upgrading its visual system and take the opportunity to simplify its wiring.
Into the future:
INTENDED UPGRADES
• Configure extra controls for Flight Seat (Minor)
• Configure gauges for Oxygen / Environmental panel (Minor/Moderate)
• Replace SAS panel switches for Magnetically Held switches (Minor/Moderate)
• Install utility light - back rear of left console (Minor/Moderate)
• Configure ADI steering bars (Moderate)
• Look at sound setup (Moderate)
• Install magnetically held switch into throttle unit (Moderate)
• Build RWR V2 – Change display to LCD screen with PC connector (Moderate)
• Build HSI V2 – improved / greater functionality (Extensive)
• Implement new visual setup (Extensive) – [Space now available]
• Update website (Extensive)
IDEAL / TIME PERMITTING UPGRADES
• EMI – Correct needle slip on 1 gauge (Minor / Moderate)
• Circuit Breaker Panel - Wire up and bring on-line (Moderate)
• Replace driver board on left MFCD - high pitched hum (Moderate)
• Build Airspeed Indicator V2 - Decimal Rotary / correct gauge scaling (Moderate)
• Build Radio Stack V2 – A10C / A10C II (Moderate)
• Replace MFCD Tactile caps (Moderate/Extensive)
• Build working HUD (Extensive)
• Remove hub (data cabinet) –migration to fully localized wiring
• Incorporate advanced PCB design to reduce Front Dash Panel footprints (Extensive)
• Install new rudder pedals (Extensive)
• Build Left Console V2 – Correct Scaling / reduced weight / on wheels (Extensive)
