Описание: BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena introduced a private member's Bill in Rajya Sabha on Friday, seeking the formation of a committee to prepare and implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country, despite strong opposition from Opposition parties including the Congress, TMC, DMK, NCP, CPI(M), CPI, IUML, MDMK, and RJD. Members also noted that, despite being listed at least six times in the past, Meena's Uniform Civil Code in India Bill, 2020 was never introduced due to objections raised by the Opposition and subsequent intervention by the Treasury benches. "I don't know what has changed," RJD MP Manoj Jha said in a protest.
