Sunday Longplay - G-One (F-Zero SNES ROM Hack) - Alpha Demo 0.9, Work In Progress

This week on Sunday Longplay, my celebration of F-Zero's 30th anniversary continues with something a little different. This time I'm going to promote a very ambitious and promising work in progress with a playthrough of an alpha demo of an F-Zero hack still in development, codenamed G-One!

All F-Zero hacks I've played have brand-new custom-made tracks, while some (Alternate Strike and Nebula Highway immediately come to mind) have also taken it a step further with custom color palettes and environment colors. But Mat Lab promises to take G-One all the way up to eleven by hacking and changing literally EVERYTHING (environments, colors, text, tracks, music, new track textures, the whole shebang)! His vision for the end result is to have 15 custom made tracks with their own unique world, environment, and music. Right now he has 6 tracks made (Cloud Ocean, Arachnopolis, Neo Mecca, Aquilion, Deep Tropical, and Dust Moon), with 3 custom music tracks (one for Cloud Ocean, one for Arachnopolis, and one of which is a new results theme which is a remix of the one from Mario Kart 64 with F-Zero's soundfont).

In this demo playthrough, I'm playing through all 6 of the tracks Mat has made so far, and also showing off another interesting thing. Apparently in the latest demo, there are 35 slots for tracks in Practice Mode, which opens up Pandora's Box for possibilities with future F-Zero hacks!
