A brief look at Ryde Esplanade railway station on the Isle of Wight on the afternoon of Saturday 27th June 2020. The station is the interchange point for the bus station and Hovercraft terminal.
The train seen in this video is known as the class 483. These electric multiple units were originally built as 1938 tube stock units for the London Underground. They were extensively refurbished between 1989 and 1992 by Eastleigh Works for use on services on the Isle of Wight's Island Line. These trains are due to be replaced over the next 12 months from the time of making this video so thought I would pay a visit to see these units in action before they retire.
