Chapter no 5
Factorization
9th Class Mathematics Science Group, Exercise 5.3 Question no 1, Part i, Part iv , Part v
Factorization:
In mathematics, factorization consists of writing a number or another mathematical object as a product of several factors, usually smaller or simpler objects of the same kind.
For example, 3 × 5 is a factorization of the integer 15, and (x – 2)(x + 2) is a factorization of the polynomial x2 – 4.
Polynomial:
Polynomial is made up of two terms, namely Poly (meaning “many”) and Nominal (meaning “terms.”).
A polynomial is defined as an expression which is composed of variables, constants and exponents, that are combined using the mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (No division operation by a variable).
Based on the numbers of terms present in the expression, it is classified as monomial, binomial, and trinomial.
For example
P(x) = x2-5x+11
Remainder Theorem:
Factor Theorem:
Cubic Polynomial:
factorization by division method.
factorization by completing square.
factorization by middle term breaking.
factorization by taking common.
