How to Annoy Your Dad - Gorilla Lope And Silverback Gorilla Oumbi

Oumbi starts by banging against the wall, while Lope is having a few seconds' rest. When Lope gets up he goes to the wall, sticks his hand through the gap under the wall and steals some of the wood wool (wood shavings). Again, Again and again. It does look like later Lope's plan is to actually pinch Oumbi. When Lope and Oumbi stare at each other through the little gaps in the wall it's just hilarious.

Lots of comments on how sad Oumbi is. Did you know that gorillas don't have the same facial muscles as us humans? They can't smile! When a gorilla relaxes, their muscles face droop which makes them look grumpy. This happens in the wild too. This is just one video. Maybe when you see the whole family dynamics, you'll know he's relaxing in one of his favourite spots, but his son ( who is very mischievous anyway) just wants to play. You can't always judge from one video. Of course, I would love to see them in the wild rather than in the zoo, but the world we live in just doesn't make that possible. Let them free you say. Where to? They were born in a Zoo, not in the wild. Only Biddy the oldest gorilla family member was born in the wild, but those were different times. European zoos don't get animals from the wild anymore. They feel safe at Twycross. They have the whole family with them. Dad, mum, grandma, aunt and two boys.
