On August 26, a massive landslide involving ice, rocks, and soil blocked the path of a river. With the water unable to flow downstream, it began accumulating behind the natural barrier created by the landslide. This led to the formation of two temporary lakes.

The major concern is that these lakes are being held back by loose soil and huge rocks. If these natural barriers collapse, the accumulated water could suddenly rush downstream and trigger another devastating flood.

On Friday, August 28, one of the temporary lakes reportedly overflowed, forcing rescue operations to be temporarily suspended.

The second lake is relatively larger, and there appears to be no clear outlet for the water. If the water continues to accumulate, the situation could become extremely dangerous again at any moment.
