The 69 GT500, powered by the iconic 428 CobraJet, held its own on the street and strip in its day. 50 years later, it's still doing what it was originally designed to do - deliver impressive performance and turn heads. Check out 1969 technology like telescoping power antenna, factory AM-FM stereo, and remote trunk release. All original stuff.

The motor is strong and it's one of the few 69 GT500s with factory smog system still intact (pump, Thermactor injectors, anti-backfire check valve, exhaust manifold heat shield, heat riser S-tube, air cleaner snorkel). Tossing this equipment was the first "improvement" many owners made to their GT500s and this one was spared.
Minimal rust repair and it still retains all original sheet metal except for the trunk lid. There are a couple of small metal patches in the lower corner of the doors, but you'd never notice them. The floor pans and trunk floor are completely original and solid. The underside received fresh undercoating in the late 1980s by the previous owner. Underneath everything is in excellent shape as you'd expect from a car that's been garaged its entire life and reportedly never taken out in the rain.
The interior of this car is mostly original and in very good shape. The previous owner is a SAAC and MCA Shelby concours judge and Shelby restorer. As I recall, he purchased it from the original owner with the intent to do a concours restoration. He replaced the carpet, headliner, dash pad, door panels, and reupholstered the front seats. Interior maintains a stock appearance with no visible tears, marks, autographs, or modifications. A fresh coat of paint and clear coat was sprayed over the factory paint and new stripes were applied. The original space saver spare tire in the trunk still clearly displays factory ink markings.
