November 11 2004: Kobe's (38pts) 2nd game of the post-Shaq era
After winning the first game of the '04-'05 season at home against the Nuggets (Kobe has a length-of-the-court chase-down block on Andre Miller that game), the Lakers got beat soundly by the Jazz; getting beat would become a theme during the '04-'05 season. The Lakers only had 28pts in the first half, and Kobe was 1-7 with 11pts. He turned it up in the 2nd half, scoring 17 in the 3rd and 10 in the 4th on 14 shots. Nobody on the Lakers shot over 50%. Watch as Kobe explodes as his own teammate tries to high-five him right before the replay of the baseline dunk. That's Raja Bell guarding Kobe in the post in the first clip.
