Kanungu District on 27th August 2025 successfully hosted the second day of the Kigezi Annual Regional Joint Performance Review Meeting, with Kabale District serving as the official convener.

The high-level engagement, held at Goro Cottages in Kihiihi Town Council, brought together leaders, technocrats, and stakeholders from across the Kigezi sub-region to evaluate development programs, share progress reports, and discuss challenges affecting service delivery.

Day two focused on sectoral presentations, performance tracking, and interactive discussions that highlighted key areas such as health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. Participants emphasized the importance of accountability and regional collaboration in ensuring that government projects and community initiatives directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.

The meeting is part of an annual cycle that rotates across districts in Kigezi, aiming to strengthen joint planning, knowledge sharing, and peer learning among local governments.

As Kanungu played host, leaders commended the hospitality and organizational capacity of the district, while also noting the need for stronger partnerships to accelerate social and economic transformation in the region.
