In episode 2 of Full Stride we’re off to the gold rush town of Ballarat - one of the wealthiest cities in the world in the mid 19th century and today, home to the inaugural Ballarat Marathon. With Australian running legend Steve Moneghetti at the helm, this race was always going to draw a crowd and it didn’t disappoint. We follow Thomas Do Canto one of Australia’s top marathon runners but also father of two, small business owner and all-round nice guy. Having ran a 2:11:51 at Valencia just 6 months ago, Tom chose Ballarat with its relatively flat course and relaxed atmosphere as the perfect place to attempt a PB and, if absolutely everything went to plan, an Olympic qualifying time.
