Then, one very interesting theory that I haven’t heard before is proposed by one of the crew members about why engineers left a quote on quote invitation for humans to lv 223. There is also a really short scene at the end in which shaw and david actually arrive to the Engineer homeworld paradise.


When David arrives in a room with sleeping engineer, Three of the four pods have large holes on them and decayed fossilized bodies can be seen inside. Only the fourth pod is untouched.

When the crew returns to the pyramid looking for fiefiled and melburn they encounter a mutated creature.

Janek, Ford, Chance, Jackson and Wallace run over to Barnes and all SIX stand in shock at the sight of this BLUEISH, PALE LOOKING CREATURE. The CREATURE WHICH IS ACTUALLY A MUTATED MILLBURN SITS ON THE DIRT WAILING AS IT EXAMINES IT'S OWN HANDS AND FEET. IT'S MORE CUTE AND BABY LIKE APPOSED TO SOMETHING HIDEOUS AND SCARY.

It looks up at the six and extends it's arms as if it wants an embrace. It stands up and is revealed to be nearly eight feet tall.

In another passage, a conversation between Vickers and Jackson reveals why the Fielfirld and Melburn and probably some other crew memebers aren’t the smartest scientists

JACKSON Yeah one actually. Where did the old man hire these goons from anyway? I was talking to some biologist and the guy is more dumb than a god damn swamp rat. If these people are Scientists then IQ's must have fallen since I left school V

ICKERS The old man never hired them. . I did. JACKSON Why? Do you want them to fail or something? VICKERS You always were too smart for this job Jackson.

Vickers did everything to set this expedition to failure, and as you’ll see later in the video, she disapproved it from the very beginning.

In conversation with Shaw, Janek reveals his controversial thoughts about engineers. and why they invited us to lv 223.

SHAW Why they created us, Janek. Why they abandoned us. Why did they leave an invitation for us to find? JANEK Maybe those weren't invitations Shaw. Maybe they came back long after creating life. Maybe they took people from Earth over here to build that Pyramid for them. Maybe those humans drew what they saw in these caves. I mean why build them yourself when you get something to do the hard work for you. Those weren't invitations Miss Shaw. It was a warning SHAW Well I'd rather die here with those answers than go home without them.

I read many theories and I’ve never heard this one. In fact, Janek’s theory would be the only explanation for ancient star maps in caves. Engineers had contacts with humans and it was not a pleasant experience at all, which was the reason to draw the warning map. Exploiting humans as a labour force totaly makes sense because Engineers viewed humanity as an inferiour barbaric species.

The last conversation between Wickers and Weyland is extended and we learn more about their complicated relatonship.

Another thing that was really intriguing in the movie is the green crystal, which has no mention at all in the script unfortunately.
However, after doing some research I found that originaly, green crystal wasn’t supposed to be there in the firs place. In the early Prometheus trailers, you can see that instead of a green crystal Holloway is looking at a sacrifice cup. Not sure why Ridley replaced it with a green crystal that confused everybody, but my guess is that he thought the cup would make a very obvious connection to the opening scene. However, I still think it would be so much better if they used a cup because it provides more meaning to events in the temple.

The script also provides a short description of the green goo

David steps away from the group as he spots some sort of ALIEN PANEL. He examines it and finds a strange substance on it. He touches it with his fingers and looks closely at it. HE SMELLS IT. – THROUGH David's EYE SIGHT which is completely different than that of a HUMAN'S eye sight – HE EXAMINES THE GREEN SUBSTANCE CLOSELY. IT HAS MILLIONS OF tiny SYMBOLS and HIEROGLYPHS INSIDE.

Based on that explanation, the green goo is an alien nano substance that is used to store information and I’m wondering if Engineers were able to read it with their eye sign.
