Current evidence suggests that extreme heat poses risk to perinatal health in low- and middle-income countries. More methodologically homogenous studies are needed to enable more robust comparisons; recommendations for future study design are included in our analysis. There continues to exist a need for high-quality data to more effectively investigate the links between heat and birth outcomes in LMICs, and to identify and evaluate effective interventions.
