As such there is no test to conform cerebral palsy. There are many tests to confirm our clinical suspicion and also to asses management purpose. cerebral palsy is basically clinical diagnosis by a clinician where there is a developmental delay but the child is gradually improving and which is why there will be some insult to the brain and that is what is non progressive insult and child will improve and it can be confirmed by many methods. The commonly used methods are brain scan like CT scan or MRI. CT scan you use for torch infection or birth related problem if it is severe, but in mild cases we ask for MRI. This is one of the scan that gives an idea for cerebral palsy if it is related to birth injury or genetic problem. So it will confirm our clinical suspected cerebral palsy also. There are many tests to help in the management of cerebral palsy like testing for vision like VEP and testing for hearing, they are BERA. These will help to note down any associated problem. EEG is one of the tests to note down any severity of the convulsion and what type of convulsions for further management xcape and eap to look for dislocation and bone spine x-ray to look for scoliosis. Similarly these are the tests to help the associated cerebral palsy that can be taken care and these tests are helpful for further management of the child with cerebral palsy.
