AI Got This OET Writing Score Wrong ChatGPT vs Real OET Teacher

In this companion video to my earlier AI + OET Writing episode, I take a real student referral letter and show how different AI tools (including ChatGPT and Copilot) misread the case notes, ignore key criteria and even mis-score the letter.

We walk through three versions side-by-side:
1️⃣ The student’s original OET referral letter
2️⃣ Her AI-“corrected” version (with serious hidden problems)
3️⃣ My AI-assisted version, overseen and fixed step-by-step as an OET specialist

Along the way, you’ll see:
How AI tools miss or mishandle OET criteria (e.g. Organisation & Layout just disappears)
Why “Purpose B, Content B…” is meaningless without real OET scoring (0–3 / 0–7 grid)
Classic AI mistakes with case notes (like misreading 5/7 as a pain score instead of 5 days out of 7)
What should not be in your opening line (age, occupation, unnecessary details)
Where AI is useful (grammar and vocab) – and where it’s dangerous (task response, content, conciseness)
