Phillip Sear plays a piece from a set of 4 'Klavierstücke' (piano pieces) from around 1896 by the German composer Heinrich Hofmann (1842-1902).
Hoffman, born in Berlin, was well-known in his lifetime for orchestral works and operas. He is mainly remembered today for shorter piano works, some of which are still used for educational purposes. Although the slightly Brahmsian middle section of this waltz is a bit tame, it is overall an attractive piece, and the last few bars seem to quote a harmonic sequence from the end of Liszt's first piano concerto.
