The Master of Arts in International Affairs and Leadership's focus lies on US foreign policy and international affairs with an emphasis on cultivating character-driven leadership skills. All courses are delivered asynchronously online with two optional in-person components in Washington, D.C., where you can hone your communication skills and take advantage of the networking opportunities. We recently had a Washington Week for our Fall 2021 cohort in October - we led field trips, discussions with guest speakers, a diplomatic crisis simulation, etc. Students are responsible for transportation, lodging, and meals for the Week. https://news.asu.edu/20211102-asu-onl.... The next Washington Week is scheduled for March 28th through April 1st.

The course topics for spring include but not limited to: Applied Leadership, Transatlantic Relations, Human Rights and Genocide Prevention, Global Economy, and Religion and Diplomacy. IAL 502 was featured in the recording and will be available for Fall A 2022. Many of our students aspire to serve as a Foreign Service Officer, civil servant, policy analyst, or non-profit manager in the field of international affairs. Our faculty are former ambassadors, senior government officials, and general military officers in Washington, D.C., so the common networks for our program are naturally in the DC political/international affairs realm. The leadership component is taught by LTG Benjamin Freakley.
