Gleinalmtunnel (8320 Meter) - A9 Pyhrn Autobahn - Steiermark

Описание: Der Gleinalmtunnel ist ein Autobahntunnel in Österreich auf der Pyhrnautobahn (A9) mit einer Länge von 8.320 Metern und verbindet die Bezirke Leoben und Graz-Umgebung in der Steiermark. Der Tunnel erspart den Weg durch das Murtal von Graz über Bruck a.d. Mur in die Bezirke Murtal und Murau. Er wurde am 11. August 1978 eröffnet. Die Strecke durch den Gleinalmtunnel erbringt eine Zeitersparnis gegenüber dem Murtal über Leoben und Bruck/Mur von ca. 20 Minuten.

Derzeit ist der Tunnel nur einröhrig ausgeführt und wird im Gegenverkehr bei einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 80 km/h betrieben. Auf Grund von mehrfachen tödlichen Unfällen im Tunnel wurde der Neubau einer zweiten Röhre notwendig. Mit dem Vollausbau wurde im September 2013 begonnen. Die zweite Tunnelröhre soll bis 2017 fertiggestellt sein.

The Gleinalm Tunnel (German: Gleinalmtunnel) is a highway tunnel in Styria, Austria. It lies along the Pyhrn Autobahn and it is 8320 m long. It connects the district of Leoben with the district Graz-Umgebung. It was opened on 1978.

The tunnel was in part built as an alternative route from Graz to the Murau District and the Murtal district, shortening the trip by about 20 minutes.

Currently the tunnel has only has one tube with oncoming traffic. The speed limit is 80 km/h and it has a toll of 8 euro.

A second tube is under construction since September 21st, 2013. The whole project will cost about 299 million euro. The new tube will open 2017, after which the old tube will be closed for renovation. Both tubes will open 2019 according to the project plan.
