Описание: The 2025 North Coast National ( The Lismore Show) saw the return of members of the Showmen Guild of Australasia. A feature of the Show since 1964 has been The Big Whizzer. This ride under the guardianship of Keith & Stan March was the first time this iconic ride had play at an Australian Show. I fact it debut was at The Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba Queensland. This ride at that time was on a converted gun carriage towed by a Leyland Truck. My previous YouTube have mentioned some of the past history of this ride and the Folklore surrounding it, such as the March Brother's dislike of black based paints such that no repaints ever used a colour to which black was part of the formula. In this latest clip we learn another field of Folklore. When Whizzer came to Lismore the only ground available was a hillside so tje first day of the 1964 show meant it didn't operate as staff armed with picks and shovels levelled the slope to provide a stable flat base for the rides operation,which to this day remains its operational area. Keeping up or indeed setting the pace music was added for patrons to enjoy while riding. The song chosen was North to Alaska sung by Johnny Horton.
