Awesome walk in New York city, before Christmas, going from Lower Manhattan to Dumbo in Brooklyn. With beauutiful stone arches, the Brooklyn Bridge supports six lanes of vehicles (no trucks) and a shared pedestrian and bicycle path. An average of more than 100,000 vehicles, 30,000 pedestrians and 3,000 cyclists travel over the Brooklyn Bridge each day. The Brooklyn Bridge, over the East river, was designed by John A. Roebling. Its construction began in 1869. It was completed in 1883.
