A gorgeous Simpson's puzzle. 🍩 Tim Doyle's ‘Night Falls at SNPP’. 1000-Pc Jigsaw Puzzle Time Lapse

Описание: Another puzzle that I held onto for too long before working on. This is 'Night Falls at the SNPP' the 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle from RECESS with art by Timothy Doyle. SNPP, of course, stands for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. I was introduced to this puzzle by Kelly (@mintyfizz_puzzles on Instagram), and as an old-school Simpsons watcher, I was immediately obsessed.

I need to tip my hat to Kelly for also tipping me off that this puzzle was still available on the artist's website. Just a heads up, they are still available (at the time of this posting), so check out Nakatomiinc.com and search for puzzles to find both Simpson's themed puzzles.

Tim's artwork here is stunningly beautiful. I love the contrast of taking something that had simple, bright artwork and converting it into something dark and almost gritty. He also has a similar puzzle series using Studio Ghibli characters and settings that is equally beautiful.

This is one of those puzzles that I was low-key intimidated by. Thankfully, this puzzle wasn't nearly as hard as I expected it to be. If you pay attention to the different patterns and line thicknesses, it is relatively easy to group pieces in the correct spots. The color palette may be simple, but it's used effectively as each color is relegated to certain objects/elements. The hardest part of this puzzle was simply working with the glossy piece finish and being able to view everything properly while sitting. I was working flat on my desktop, but I would recommend using a tiltable puzzle board if you work on a puzzle from this series.
