Step aside Antonov; this has got to be the SMOKIEST takeoff in aviation history! It wasn't engine smoke though; the three pilots at the back of the formation decided to leave their smoke trails ON for takeoff, leaving behind a 3-kilometer cloud! For context: Canada's aerial demonstration team (the Snowbirds) took off for a practice flight before their annual Canada Day fly-overs at Parliament Hill yesterday. After finishing their routine, they were joined by a Canadian Air Force CF/18 Hornet for a thunderous fly-by over the Ottawa airport! Then they broke off and landed in formation, and subsequently taxied over to their parking spots behind a FedEx Airbus A300F. I hope you enjoy!
