your own seat of honor, carpet, and roof.

You were born with wings,
why prefer to crawl through life...

You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.
You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly.

I know you’re tired but come, this is the way.

If all you can do is crawl,
start crawling.

Whether one moves slowly
or with speed,
the one who is a seeker
will be a finder.

Do not worry if all the candles
in the world flicker and die.
We have the spark
that starts the fire.

The time has come to turn your heart
into a temple of fire.

Set your life on fire.
Seek those who fan your flames.

It’s your road and yours alone.
Others may walk it with you,
but no one can walk it for you.

As you start to walk on the way,
the way appears.

Be an empty page, untouched by words.
Let your teacher be love itself.

Let yourself become living poetry.

Don’t be satisfied with stories,
how things have gone with others.
Unfold your own myth.

(30 September 1207 – 17 December 1273)
Mawalan Jalaluddin Rumi also known as Mohammad Jalaluddin Balkhi was a 13th-century persian  poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic originally from Greater Khorasan.
The general theme of Rumi's thought, like that of other mystic and Sufi poets of Persian literature, is that of tawhid — union with the Beloved, from whom he sees himself as being cut off and aloof.
