🌿 Ingredients
200g (about 1 ½ cups) sesame seeds
2–3 tablespoons neutral oil (like sunflower or grapeseed)
1–2 pinches of salt (optional)
🧑🍳 Step 1: Toast the Sesame Seeds
Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
You want them lightly golden and nutty — but not brown.
This takes about 5–7 minutes.
Let them cool slightly before blending.
🌰 Step 2: Blend into Tahini
Transfer the toasted seeds into a food processor or high-speed blender.
Blend them dry first — this helps release their natural oils.
Scrape down the sides as needed and keep blending.
Once the mixture turns into fine, slightly oily crumbs, start adding your oil — one tablespoon at a time.
Blend until it’s smooth and pourable.
At this stage, you can add a pinch of salt and give it a final blend.
And that’s it — your tahini is ready!
🧂 Step 3: Transfer & Store
Transfer your tahini to a clean jar.
Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
