Historyun presents a new annual program for 2025 "how to be a Caliph", delving into the seminal and classical political manual of al-Mawardi "al-Ahkam al-Sultaniyyah" as a primer and formal instruction for students of Islamic political theory as it was taught and practiced during the Abbasid epoch.
This program introduces the student to various principles, maxims, theories and practical tools that are essential for interpreting and understanding the political edge and reality of certain events and decisions within the remit of Islamic history.
The lessons and principles imparted upon the student will also enable them to develop and sharpen key analytical tools that will assist in understanding and dissecting current events pertaining to contemporary issues related to statesmanship, governance and policy.
