This is your punch-and-move drill using half steps - training you to punch WHILE moving, not punch THEN move or move THEN punch.
The 4-Minute Rhythm Shots Structure:
Rhythm Shots (30 sec)
Power Shots (30 sec)
×4 rounds = 4 minutes 5 seconds total
Standard Rhythm Shots:
Moving left: Left hand/left foot, right hand/right foot
Moving right: Right hand/right foot, left hand/left hand
Half Steps Progression:
After each left-right combination, add a half step in your direction of travel, then reset. This forces you to maintain balance and punch effectively from outside positions.
Power Shots with Half Steps:
Take a half step BEFORE throwing your power shot (straights, hooks, uppercuts, overhands). Step, shoot, reset. This trains balance and power generation from non-standard positions.
Progression Options:
Beginners: Straights only with half steps
Advanced: Add hooks, uppercuts, overhands
Pro level: Throw combinations off half steps
Pairs with: Yesterday's Half Steps Footwork Warm-Up (4:05) + Today's Rhythm Shots (4:05) = Complete 8-minute progression
