Описание: The first country on our Europe trip was the Netherlands. Before spending time in Amsterdam, we spent a week exploring the rest of the country. We stayed in a beach house in Noordwijik, and saw six of the provinces in this beautiful country.

Our favourite place was Giethoorn, nicknamed the Venice of the North. We highly recommend visiting this village full of beautiful canals, and bridges connecting all of the quaint houses. If you're visiting the Netherlands in the Spring, definitely check out Keukenhof Park, which is home to the iconic annual tulip festival. We didn't get to see the flowers in bloom, but the park was still lovely, and we got to witness the meticulous planting of millions of tulip bulbs! Another must see are the windmills in Kinderdijk. While this world heritage site is popular with tourists, it's still worth it to see the largest collection of classic windmills in the country. Everywhere we went, we found people to be very friendly and welcoming. We loved visiting all the small villages, and supporting the family-run shops and restaurants.It was nice to spend some time in the countryside, knowing that the rest of our Europe trip would be full of city life.
