The 7 line is one of the most intensively-scheduled lines in the NYC Subway system. A combined frequency 29 Trains-per-Hour operates on the line in each direction during the peak ridership period of the AM rush hour, with express and local service operating. A remote camera was set up alongside the line to capture the sheer throughput of the line during this intense service period. The 7 Line is one of the few lines of the NYC Subway system that operates using CBTC (Communications Based Train Control), which allows for this level of throughput. This timelapse shows the span of service between 5:45AM and 12:55PM. Enjoy!
