When the NHS was first set up, life expectancy in the UK was below 71. Fast forward to 2018 and the NHS has achieved a number of medical breakthroughs through research and technological advancement. Many believe that rising levels of obesity and diabetes means future generations are likely to be less healthy. But experts say that the NHS will be transformed over the next few decades by artificial intelligence, which could lead to diseases like cancer being manageable, if not completely curable.
