Dr. Tracey Hucks is a professor of Theology at Harvard University. Hucks has written extensively about Afro-Caribbean roots of Spiritualism, and explores the nuanced differences among Caribbean religious practices and how those practices have changed over time. She will provide an analysis of two historical novels, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "The Slave Son", and will illuminate how race, social status, and gender influenced Spiritualist practices.
