Fair and secure elections are the bedrock of our democracy. However, many members of our community have little information about what happens after they cast their ballots. On February 8, 2024, Hourglass, The Steinman Institute for Civic Engagement, and Keep Our Republic hosted an informative, nonpartisan event dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of the 2024 election process and equipping our community to combat misinformation surrounding election integrity.
Panelists included former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, Dickinson College president and former federal judge John E. Jones III, Lancaster County Commissioner Ray D'Agostino, Spotlight PA reporter Kate Huangpu, and Director of Policy for the Department of State Michael McDonald. The panel was moderated by Dr. Stephen Medvic, Director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College.
At the event, we also recognized student contest winners Zoe Wiker (Warwick High School), Madalyn Hampton (Elizabethtown High School) and Viviana Arnold (Penn Manor High School).
